I'm not saying our kids are going to be award winning theatre professionals, and I'm certainly not advocating for or against medication. But I am saying... there are a lot of kids out there, who like Audra, need theatre in their lives! There are kids who are desperate for a creative outlet, a way to express their passion, and a place to belong.
Whether your child has energy for days, a quirky or artistic flair, imagination beyond, a quietly burning fire in their eyes, or a simple interest or curiosity about giving theatre a try, there is a place for them at Toy Chest Youth Theatre.

We believe that kids are creative and capable. At Toy Chest Youth Theatre the kids run the show, literally! This means that students are actively involved in all major aspects of theatre production. Not only do the kids do the acting, but they participate in the design and creation of sets, props, and costumes. There is adult direction and mentorship all throughout the process, but the kids are the true stars, whether on stage or behind the scenes.
The focus of everything we do us education. Performances are part of the education of the students and we treat them like students, not professional performers. Because of this we do not charge for admission to our shows, but encourage friends and family to show up as a celebration of all they have achieved.
Effective storytelling on stage does not have to be complicated. A simple chest of toys, a few dress up clothes, and a little imagination are all that is needed . . . and just what most kids have on hand. Our approach depends on the ingenuity of children to pull from resources readily available to them to bring stories to life on stage.
